Meet Pastor Matt!
Rev. Matthew Alexander is a passionate preacher, devoted husband to his wife, Morgan, and proud father of their children, Madison and Matthew Jr.. Born and raised in Detroit, he carries the heart of the city into every aspect of his ministry — blending authenticity, compassion, and a deep commitment to the Gospel.
Rev. Alexander earned his B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering and spent several years working in the utility and energy industries before fully embracing his vocational call to ministry. In 2024, he graduated from Moody Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity in Pastoral Studies, receiving the prestigious Faculty Award for his service in Urban Ministry.
For over 15 years, he was a faithful member of Messiah Baptist Church in Detroit under the leadership of Pastor Orville K. Littlejohn, where he served as an associate minister for 6 years. During his tenure, he contributed to preaching, evangelism, building operations, and much more, helping to strengthen the church’s impact both inside and outside its walls. Rev. Alexander also served at Detroit Church under the leadership of Pastor Sonny Smith while completing his pastoral internship.
He has also served as a Client Advocate at CareNet Pregnancy Center for over 4 years, where he provides support, resources, and hope to men facing unplanned pregnancies with their partners, demonstrating the love of Christ in practical and compassionate ways. Rev. Alexander is also pursuing his Doctor of Ministry (D.Min) degree full-time, balancing rigorous theological study with active pastoral leadership.
His preaching is marked by biblical depth, practical application, and a heartfelt desire to see lives transformed by the power of Christ. Whether ministering to a congregation, engaging in community service, or pursuing academic excellence, he strives to live out the call to love God, serve people, and advance the Kingdom.
