Friendship Affirmation Statement
The Friendship Affirmation statement represents some fundamental doctrinal truths of Baptist Christians that are found in God’s word and the Articles of Faith. It presents foundational, core and cornerstone beliefs and values that sum up the essence of Friendship and our relationship with God and our fellow man.
I believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God.
I believe in the Holy Trinity, God the Father and Creator, God the Son who is our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and God the Holy Spirit our Guide and Comforter.
I believe we are saved by God’s grace and once saved always saved eternal security and when I was born again, I received the Holy Spirit.
I believe when I was born again, I was set aside for Holy work, which is sanctification, and I continue on this journey growing in my attempt to become perfect like God. However, I will not achieve this until I die.
I believe that the church of God is a body of baptized believers in Jesus Christ.
I believe that Jesus was born of a Virgin.
I believe in the Gospel, “The Good News”, that is the story of Jesus Christ’s Life, Death, Burial, Resurrection, Ascension and his Return.
I believe in the Promise that if I accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Personal Savior, I will have eternal life.
I believe in the two Ordinances, Baptism by Immersion and Holy Communion or the Eucharist. Both are symbolic and Christ left them for me to remember and commemorate his life on Earth.
I believe in supporting God’s church with my resources both monetarily and spiritually and give my time and service to help build God’s Kingdom on Earth.
I believe I am to take God’s word, “The Good News” out to the lost and unchurched. I am fulfilling my role in the Great Commission proclaiming that Christ is the Savior of the World.
I believe I need to pray and study God’s word so I can strengthen my relationship with my God, Jesus Christ and all people.
